How to Succeed: Develop Good Work Ethics!
Proverbs 6:6-11, “V6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard, consider her ways and be wise. V7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler. V8 Provides her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. V9 How long will you sleep? V11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travels.”
The ant has the best “work ethics” because they are always preparing their harvest for a rainy day. The ant knows the importance of storing up food for the harsh winter months. Proverbs 6:6-11 shows how we should have the work ethics of an ant. Many individuals want to live a good and comfortable life that God promises them. But, you have to do something in return for God:
- Believe in Him.
- Accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
- Repent of your sins.
- Follow God’s commands.
You must also understand that as a child of God, the devil will test you, and at times God will test you. When being tested, put on the full armor of God and never give up. As a Christian, you must work diligently to follow God’s commands. Stay focused on your God-given goals, gifts, and talents. Never give up because your blessing is right around the corner.
Like the ant, you must understand that your hard work will pay off. You cannot expect to receive something for nothing. If you live your life according to the will of God, you will reap the benefits of your hard work. Do not be discouraged and keep working towards your God-given destiny.
