How to Succeed: If have Nothing Nice to Say, Keep Quiet!
Proverbs 8:6, 8 “V6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. V8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing forward or perverse in them.” I am learning that sometimes saying nothing speaks volumes to others.
One of my major issues that I have with myself is gossiping. I am learning that it is not good to speak about others because you do not know their story. Third hand knowledge about a person is not good to pass along to others because more than likely the story is false. I am learning that it is not good to speak ill of anyone because it is not nice.
As a Christian, I must learn to uplift others and not put others down. I must learn that speaking negatively only brings negativity into my life. My words must inspire and uplift others. I must speak words of love and understanding, and not anger or hate. I am a work in progress and I know I can give love and encouragement with my words.
As Proverbs 8:6 states “my words shall represent excellent things and my lips will bring forth positive thoughts and positive feelings.” I want my words to build up and not tear anyone down. My words will be a “light to someone’s darkness.” I am learning my words can have a powerful effect on others.
