How to Succeed: Get Rid of the Baggage!
Luke 19:5-10, “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at your house. He made haste and received Jesus joyfully. The crowd was upset, saying, He went to the house of a sinner. Zacchaeus said to Jesus, “I will give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I will restore to him fourfold”. Jesus stated to him, “This day salvation has come to this house, forasmuch as he is a son of Abraham”. For the Son of Man comes to seek and to save that which is lost.”
We all have baggage from our past and this baggage comes from years of living life. Some baggage is good and some is bad. You must learn to let the “bad baggage” go. Do not be afraid to let go of the past. You must learn to move forward without bringing the “bad baggage” with you. Jesus does not judge you regarding your past mistakes. Jesus was sent to the world to provide salvation to people who needed it.
Jesus does not judge us and he is here to save us. Jesus had no problem having dinner with Zacchaeus, who was a tax collector. Many citizens of the town did not like Zacchaeus because of his job. They considered him to be a sinner, but Jesus saw a “child of God” needing guidance and salvation.
The world may judge you based on your past mistakes, but Jesus Christ does not judge you. With God, we are given a “clean slate” to start over and begin anew. God forgives and forgets our past mistakes and he does not judge us. But, God will discipline his children for sinning as a parent will correct their child for misbehaving. I have learned to let go of the “bad baggage” after closing my first business. In turn, I am able to start a new business and live the life God intended for me to live.
So, get rid of the “bad baggage” and live the life God intended for you to live.
