Forgiveness is Power
The four elements of forgiveness are:
- Forgiving does not mean that what happened to you was right, but you have decided not to allow it to control your life.
- No matter if the person who wronged you does not admit guilt, you will forgive them.
- By forgiving the offending party, this will encourage them to seek forgiveness from you.
- With forgiveness, you learn that everyone needs to be forgiven for something.
Forgiveness gives you a sense of peace and calm. When you forgive someone, you are setting yourself free. Also, forgiving a person sets them free as well. We must learn to love each other and not hate each other. Forgiveness is the best way of showing someone how much you love them.
Ep. 4:32, “Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, as God has forgiven you for Jesus’ sake.” How can you call yourself a Christian when you refuse to forgive others? God has forgiven us for our sins by sacrificing his son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. Jesus forgave us because He did not have to sacrifice his life for our sins. Jesus Christ forgave us and gave His life for our sins, so that we could have a personal relationship with God.
Remember someone has forgiven you for hurting them; and you should be willing to forgive someone for hurting you.
