How to Succeed, Time to Take Action!

If you want to succeed with the life God gave you, Step One: Do Something! Step out in faith and act. It’s easier to start doing something right, if you’ve already started doing something. Just get started doing something and see what happens. Proverbs 28:1 states “The righteous are as bold as a lion.” If you don’t know exactly what to do, don’t let it keep you from doing something.

If you want to succeed with the life God gave you, Step Two: Do Something Today! So before the sun sets today, do something that will move you further toward your dream. If you want to achieve your God-given dream, you can’t allow yourself to just sit by the way side. You have to get-up and be pro-active, God did His part, and now it is time for you to do your part. Once, you realize the favor of God is upon you, you will get the nerve up to get up every day to do something to reach your dreams and goals set out before you by God.

If you want to succeed with the life God gave you, Step Three: Do Something Every day! Psalm 84:17 states, “They go from strength to strength.” All the major characters in the Bible went through many trials and tribulations, but they were not afraid, and were persistent in reaching the goals and dreams God set out for them to achieve. If you want to know your future, look at your daily routine. You don’t determine your future, you determine your habits, and your habits determine your future. The secret to success lies in doing the right things on a daily basis. If you do that, you will eventually succeed. One important thing to remember is that the Lord your God gives you the ability to produce wealth and success.

How to Succeed, Things Change, But God Doesn’t!

Ecc. 5:18 states, “Find enjoyment in…all the days which God gives [you].” You must learn to enjoy the life God gives you because you only live once. Here is how you should live life to the fullest with God’s help: (1) Enjoy today. It’s a gift that’s why it’s called “the present.” Always live in the present and not the past. (2) Learn to appreciate the little things in life. When you appreciate what you have, it multiplies. (3) Each ending brings a new beginning. God’s Word says “everything comes to pass.”

God will never change because He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Everything that is happening in your life was pre-destined by God. God does not want us to suffer in our life, but He gives us the “free-will” to choose how we want to live our lives. I prefer to live my life according to God’s will and plan for my life. With God, I know that I will be okay even when things do not go my way. Remember you only have one life, so live it the way God planned for you to live it and see what happens for you.

How to Succeed, Use What You Have!

Sometimes you may feel that everything you are doing in your life is not working and everything is going backwards, not forward. During these times, you must remember that God has favor and blessings over you. He is preparing you for your victorious life, He has in store for you. During these times, remember to let God know “Lord, I thank you for everything and I know you have favor over me. I shall not be afraid and I will keep the faith because I know my blessings are coming.” While you are waiting for your blessings, you must prepare yourself by thinking and speaking each and every day that your blessings are coming and God has favor over your life. Never stop praying during the rough times and good times asking God to bring the promised blessings into your life.

Prayer is our way of communicating and speaking with God. This is the time that God let’s know what He has planned for our lives and we tell God what we need from Him. God uses your gifts and connections with others to answer your prayers. When you pray, God can answer your prayers in two ways: (1) He can use somebody you know. (2) He can use something you have. Luke 6:38 “Jesus stated, ‘Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.'” When God blesses you, He often does it through people. Proverbs 13:20 states “He who walks with wise men will be wise.” So, be careful of the company you keep. Wisdom comes when you’re moving forward, not resting on your laurels. You must be teachable, discerning, rational, and responsive.

With God you always have enough to create what you need! God will use the gifts and talents you have to help others reach their goals and get you to the next level. Eph. 3:20 states “God can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us.” Where’s the power? Within you! Your resources are in your gifting, your tenacity, your relationships, and your connection God. So the word for you today is: What do you have?

How to Succeed, Exercise Discretion!

Sometimes it is best to be silent in certain situations. Sometimes it is not wise to talk or say anything in certain circumstances. One bad habit that I am working on is gossiping, I am learning that it is not good to spread false information about anyone that you have received from a third party. I am learning that if it does not “come from the horse’s mouth” it may not be the truth. I am learning to discern falsehood from the truth. Also, I am learning to avoid individuals who try to get you wrapped up in the latest gossip concerning others. One key practice I am learning to use on a daily basis is to stay quiet, no gossiping, and minding my own business.

Proverbs 2:10-11 “v.10 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul. v.11 Discretion shall preserve you, understanding will keep you”. Loose lips can sink ships! You must learn to not spread false rumors about others just to make yourself feel good for a little while. Also, God does not like individuals making false truths about others. God wants us to love and care for each other. God wants us to appreciate the uniqueness each of us have. We must learn that words sometimes hurt more than punches. Many young people have attempted or committed suicide because of false rumors being spread about them by others. We should be uplifting each other and not tearing each other down.

I am will no longer tear down my fellow man and fellow woman, instead, I will be uplifting my fellow man and fellow woman. God put us on this earth to love, inspire, and care for each other.

How to Succeed, Start Strategizing!

In 1 Chronicles 28:11 “David gave Solomon the plans for the temple”. God gives you the plan, necessary tools and skills, and knowledge needed to live a successful life. Then, why do we always fail at living the life God has prepared for us. The main reason is because we fail to follow God’s blueprint for our lives, we fail to read and study His Word (the Bible) on a daily basis, and we fail to come to God through prayer before making major decisions in our life. God has given us the plan and blueprint for our lives to ensure that we are successful with the life He has prepared for us. But, it is up to us to use the plan and blueprint in the right way to have a successful life. There are going to be trials and tribulations in God’s plan for your life, but we can sail through it if we adhere to God’s plan and blueprint for our life.

One way to be successful in your life is to strategize. One question you need to ask yourself: Do you have a strategy for fulfilling your dream? Are you working on it? Or are you waiting on someone else to bail you out? The worst thing you can do is have a dream without a plan to make it a reality. A strategy gives you energy, direction, and focus for your dream. Your dream can come true if you seek God for direction, put your dreams down on paper with specific actions and timelines, become accountable to yourself and someone else (accountability partner), and just start working on your plan.

God gave you the dream for your life now it is time to implement the dream in your daily living. So the word for you today is, “Stop stargazing and start strategizing”. So stop day dreaming, and get to moving on making your dreams come true.

How to Succeed, Become a Motivator!

God teaches us in Hebrews 3:13 to “encourage [motivate] one another daily”. Motivators help you to dream big and help you to grow in order to fulfill your dream. A motivator will give you the encouragement to move forward with your dreams despite others trying to discourage you from fulfilling your dreams. If someone has motivated you to move forward with your dreams, in turn, you should be a motivation and inspiration to someone else. Jesus is the biggest motivator of them all. He wants you to live the life God has for you to the fullest.

The greatest motivator in my life for the past few years has been my father. When I had no choice but to give up my law practice, my father was there to help me pick up the pieces. He did not judge me in any way, he just was there providing me with a shoulder to cry on. He encouraged me to re-evaluate my life both personally and professionally. He told me to figure out what I wanted to do with the knowledge, education, and skills I had accumulated over the past twenty-five years. With my father’s encouragement, I decided to train as a mediator and business consultant, and since 2013 I have been working on honing my skills needed to be an excellent mediator and business consultant. I thank God every day for my father because he has been my No. 1 cheerleader throughout my life.

Remember that it does not take much to encourage someone to achieve their dreams and without knowing it you are their greatest motivation. People can run a long way on just a little encouragement. So become a motivator.

How to Succeed, Do not get too big for Your Bridges

Sometimes as business owners or people in general, we get to a certain level of success and feel that we achieved it all by ourselves without the help or assistance of others. We fail to realize that the same individuals you ignored and “dissed” going up the ladder of success are the same ones you will see when you fall down from that ladder of success. No one in this world can make it on their own in life. We all receive support and love from others on this journey we call life and success. No one can say that everything they have and own was done by their own two hands, their own efforts, and their own strength. I feel like in order to succeed in life, you will always have someone helping you along the way. How can you achieve anything without the help of others? You cannot find a job without someone putting an ad out for the job, someone interviewing you for the job, someone offering you the job, and someone paying your salary for doing the job. So, when individuals say to me, “Everything I have comes from my own hard work, ambition, and drive. That no one else helped me get to where I am at now.” I will just kindly smile and say, “How can you really say you made it on your own merits without the assistance of others?”

When King Saul disobeyed God, the Prophet Samuel told him, “When you were little in your own eyes…did not the Lord anoint you King over Israel? …Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord?” 1 Samuel 15:17-19. The most dangerous moment in your life is when you think you can succeed without God. When you get a few wins under your belt, it’s easy to forget who’s responsible for your success. Where once you would have consulted God, you now launch out on your own and ask Him to add His blessing to your decisions. Remember that God is the source for all your successes in life and He should be your main source to go to when you need to make major decisions concerning your life. The word for you today is: stay humble, and don’t get too big for your bridges! Remember that you cannot make it in life on your own and you will need a helping hand from someone else.

How to Succeed, Don’t Be Afraid Because God is fighting with you

Oftentimes, you are faced with an issue or problem that you feel that you cannot solve on your own and you feel no one else can help you as well. Sometimes we allow fear to overtake us and we are afraid of the unknown. Sometimes you must learn to throw caution to the wind and go for it. Sometimes you can resolve an issue or problem by just staying calm, reflecting on the problem, thinking the problem through, and asking someone for help in solving the issue or problem. Also, you should always go to God with problems because He is our counsellor, protector, and our provider. When all else fails rely upon God and see what will happen. God is a miracle worker and He can make a way out of nothing.

God promised you victory. “I give you authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you,” (Luke 10:19). God loves to take something that looks small and insignificant, multiply it by Himself and bring victory out of it. When you are swinging your sword on this side, look over your shoulder and you’ll see the Lord swinging His sword on the other side. You’re not alone because God is fighting alongside of you, so you will win.

How to Succeed, Volunteer Your Time

Apostle Paul writes, “Whatever we do, it is certainly not for our own profit, but because Christ’s love controls us now.” God is looking for volunteers, not conscripts, to spread His Gospel and bring others to His Church for salvation. Conscripts are motivated by law; volunteers are motivated by love. Volunteers love to provide their services and skills for free because they are captured by a cause. Volunteers will provide services and products at no charge because they see there is need for such and they love to help others in need. God calls us to help those in need and He calls us to spread His good word far and wide.

Volunteerism allows one to give something back that was given to them by another. It is normally called “paying it back forward” which means someone has given you knowledge or needed skills that you did not have to pay for. In turn, you should pass on those obtained knowledge or needed skills to someone without charging them. As a volunteer, you are providing a need or service that is desperately needed by the general public. Also, many needs/services are being provided by many non-profit organizations in the 21st Century due to lack of governmental funding for such needs or services. In turn, these non-profit organizations, due to lack of funds, need many individuals to volunteer their time and services to meet the demands for the services they offer to the general public.

God calls us all to care for each other, love each other, and look out for each other. God wants us to learn to serve each other wholeheartedly, as His son, Jesus Christ, did when he gave his life on the Cross for our sins. Volunteerism is one form of showing God how much you love Him because you are giving of your time to meet the needs of others.
