Time to Activate the Word of God (2)

One problem that we have as a society is that we hate waiting and have little patience. We have always been taught that instant gratification is the key to winning in life. But, it is better to run a marathon, than a sprint. With a marathon, you are able to reserve your energy and only use it when needed. With a sprint, you run out of momentum right away and are unable to finish the race. Patience is true virtue. I rather wait for something than rush to get it because while waiting I have the time to reflect on what I am about to receive.

When you send a prayer petition to God, you must understand that God’s time is different from your time. Our clocks do not run like God’s clocks. With God, He is in control and you have to work on his time. So, when you send a prayer petition to God, you must learn to be patient.

Some steps to take when you are waiting for God’s Word to be fulfilled in your life:

  1. Verbalize the Word. The best way to pray is to speak the Word of God out loud. God does not get angry if you remind Him of His promises. You do so through prayer. God’s will is shown through His Word. 1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us….We know that we have what we asked of Him.” God always responds to your prayers and He keeps His promises.
  2. Obey the Word of God. Not only should you speak God’s Word, but you must obey it as well. James 1:22 “When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory he sheds on our way; while we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.” Obedience is best defined as faith in action. When you are obedient to God’s Word, it helps you to be in sync with God. In turn, God will respond to you by fulfilling his promises to you.
  3. Spread and share God’s Word with the world. Duet. 6:6-7 “Take to heart these words that I give you today. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up.” When you share God’s Word with family, friends, and strangers, you are spreading good fruit to others. Sharing God’s Word allows others to understand the greatness of having a personal relationship with God. God’s Word should flow through you into the lives of those around you.

Time to activate God’s Word within you.
